Veneration BJJ was founded in 2008 by Professor Dave Rosenmarkle and Kelli Rossow. The affiliation started with Veneration Kenosha and has since grown to include Veneration Delavan (2017) and Veneration Jonesboro (2021). Veneration BJJ is an IBJJF and NAGA recognized school with world-ranked instructors and students.

THE VENERATION DIFFERENCE
Veneration BJJ focuses on character building through leadership development and a commitment to community. Our facility strives towards a family-oriented, inclusive, friendly, professional, clean and safe environment. Our community includes people of every age group, profession, race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, belief system and jiu jitsu goals. Our youth program is well-known for their competitive rankings and has produced both Wisconsin and Illinois' 1st Kids Pan Ams champions. Their sportsmanship is even more renowned.

At Veneration BJJ, we offer kids, teens and adults classes six days a week (both gi and no-gi) as well as private lessons throughout the week. Every last Sunday of the month, we host a free Open Mat. View our full schedule here.

Kids & Teens BJJ:
Our Kids BJJ classes are designed for youth ages 5-12. Classes consist of a warm up involving calisthenics and games built around fundamental movements frequently used in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, followed by technical instruction that teaches the children how to use the technique and problem solving to strategically defeat a larger and stronger opponent. The last few minutes of class are reserved for the kids to participate in live sparring where they will practice their acquired skills in a safe and monitored manner with the other kids in class.

This combination of activities not only allows the kids to gain new skills while having fun, but it helps them to build confidence, create discipline, integrity, and a stronger work ethic. It also helps to relieve stress and anxiety while helping them to become comfortable in stressful situations allowing them to quickly solve complex problems.

Teen classes are designed for youth ages 12-16 and run congruent to adult classes with a similar format.

Adult BJJ (16 and up):
Adult classes provide a safe and friendly environment where you can learn a new skill while getting a challenging workout. When you join Veneration BJJ, you join a supportive community of people that are all striving towards personal improvement and better health. An adult class involves a warm up, a detailed technical instruction with situational practice, followed by optional (but recommended) live sparring to practice applying your skills. Whether you are interested in seriously competing, learning self defense, or improving your overall health and fitness, we can work with you to help you achieve your specific goals.

Veteran & Military-Only BJJ Class:
Did you serve in the Armed Forces? One month, one year, one decade, one lifetime? If yes, you are welcome at our Veteran & Military-Only BJJ class, every Saturday morning from 8 - 9 a.m. Come discover a private, safe and FREE class dedicated to BJJ instruction, social support and resilience training.
